Doc Let Beach review | The best time & What to explore in Doc Let beach?

Known as the Riviera of Indochina, Nha Trang has long been the beach heaven of Vietnam with “white sand, crystal blue water, and amazing sunshine”. And among Nha Trang’s beaches, Doc Let has captured a lot of curiosity not only by bits primitive natural beauty, but the name as well.

I. Where is Doc Let beach?

Doc Let also called Doc Lech, is located in Ninh Hai ward, Ninh Hoa town, Khanh Hoa province, Vietnam. Doc Let Beach stretches with high white sand, separating the mainland from the sea with verdant palm trees.

Source: Instagram @katiaprozorovskaia

About 49 km south of Nha Trang city center, Doc Let is famous as an ideal tourist destination in summer, which is extremely suitable for those wishing a vacation on the pristine beach.

II. What is the best time to visit Doc Let beach?

Doc Let Beach review| The best time & What to explore in Doc Let beach?
Source: Instagram @puhnyastik

Doc Let is a coastal region, characterized by the tropical monsoon climate

The average annual temperature is 26.6 degrees Celsius. The most beautiful time to come to Doc Let is from January to September when it is sunny, sometimes combined with Southwest wind so the landscape is very airy and dry.

The time between October and December is the Northeast monsoon time, traveling at this time, you can only do sightseeing and can’t take part in exciting activities on the coast or underwater. Of course you cannot bathe on the beach this season because the water is very cold.

If you visit Doc Let in the fourth lunar month, there is an interesting Co Dinh festival nearby  Ninh Di with many customs to learn and participate. Going on this occasion would be very interesting. Traveling to Doc Let beach at different times is a completely new experience.

III. How to get to Doc Let beach?

There are 2 common means:

By plane: Airlines like Vietnam Airlines, Jetstar, Vietjet Air and Bamboo Airways have flights from Hanoi, Saigon and Da Nang to Cam Ranh airport. You can order tickets online through these airlines, then to Cam Ranh airport and then to the center of Nha Trang city. Rent a taxi or motorbike to Doc Let.

By train: There are also stations from Hanoi, Saigon or Da Nang to Nha Trang with fares at around 250,000 – 400,000 VND / time for bed or hard seat tickets.

IV. What to explore in Doc Let beach

1. Explore Doc Let beach

Doc Let Beach appears with a pristine beauty covered by pure white sand that captivates any visitor. Doc Let beach is quiet due to a series of surrounding hills, making the sea surface very peaceful with few high winds. Doc Let Beach stretches for about 8 km, unlike other beaches, Doc Let’s seabed is gradually moving away from the shore, the water level is not high. Usually the farther the beach is, the deeper the water is but due to the sand, it will keep going “the bottom” forever.

Doc Let Beach review| The best time & What to explore in Doc Let beach?
Source: Instagram @bestmakey

Doc Let is also ideal for small children as it is a shallow beach. The fine white sand is like a maiden’s skin, patted rhythmically by white ripples. The waves are not too fierce, the water is clear blue with pure white sand making it be an ideal place to help you leave the stress for a wonderful holiday with Doc Let. If you want to enjoy the name “Doc Let”, go up to the sandhill to try the feeling of sliding sand from the top down. That’s so amazing, believe me.

2. Camp

Doc Let camping is allowed, but you have to prepare the camp in advance because the tent rental service here is not yet complete. At night, what’s interesting than sitting around the campfire, enjoying the soft waves and sharing together with friends or lovers.

Before that, you should make a round trip to choose the best location and remember to tell the beach area guard about the specific time of your camping location. You should choose high sand mounds to avoid tidal water, and be careful with fire in the surrounding casuarina forest.

3. Rent a boat to explore the island

Doc Let Beach review| The best time & What to explore in Doc Let beach?
Source: Luxury Travel

With VND 20,000/ pax, you can rent small boats of local people to explore the small islands around. This service is attractive to young adventurers. You will take your own paddle on the water going along the shore to visit the beautiful islands like a villager fishing. Although the waves are quiet, do not forget to prepare your life jacket.

On a small boat in the middle of the water, the vast sky will dispel all feelings of unhappiness.

4. Visit the fishing village

Ninh Thuy fishing village is not far from Doc Let beach so you can walk along the beach to visit the fishing village. The fishing village is an ideal destination for you to try a day fishing experience like knitting, boating, fishing, and repairing fishing gear. The locals are sincere, rustic, very hospitable. Coming here you can feel a simple life far different from the bustling urban area and have chances to enjoy the new extremely attractive dishes, such as soup bread, fish noodles, apple tea, etc.

V. What to eat in Doc Let beach?

You can easily enjoy the local cuisine on small boats selling specialties such as crabs, snails, shrimp, squid, etc – they are fresh, fragrant and processed on the spot with some salt and lemon mixed with pepper. Those are the sweet flavors of the sea that cannot be forgotten. Fish vermicelli, soup cake, grilled spring rolls, and spring rolls have made a unique identity for Doc Let.

You can rent a small hut outside the beach to enjoy seafood, after bathing or swimming.

If you want to prepare your own cooking, you can go to the nearby seafood market with a variety of fresh seafood to choose from and cook at your homestay.
